Great bulls come from great cows, and here at Black Dragon Cattle we strive to keep a herd of cows that are able to produce top quality calves with very few inputs. We expect our cows to be efficient, calve within the first 60 days of the calving season, and raise that calf through the winter with little to no feed. Calving ease and udder structure are important because our cows are expected to calve on their own with no assistance and immediately nurse successfully. On a large range outfit like ours they must be able to get up and walk several miles of rough terrain , so we stress their phenotypic form and function. Below you will find some of our Foundation Females. These cows have produced some phenomenal calves for us, and we know they will for you too.
